What faults will occur when the motor is aging?

The aging of the motor will cause many problems. The phenomenon that is reflected is generally that the heat generation of the motor is increased, the efficiency of the motor itself is reduced, and the operating current of the motor is increased.

There are several types of aging: motor insulation aging, motor mechanical aging.

The aging of the motor insulation can cause electrical faults. Abnormal phase or ground insulation of the motor can cause short circuit or phase loss operation of the motor, or the broken bar of the motor rotor can cause insufficient output of the motor and cause overcurrent of the motor.

The mechanical aging of the motor will cause the motor to sweep the bore, overheating of the bearing, excessive vibration, abnormal sound and other faults. As long as such faults are discovered and handled in time, the motor will generally not be damaged.

Regardless of whether the motor is mechanically aging or insulation aging, it will not damage the motor at once. The motor current, front and rear bearing temperature, motor body temperature, motor operating current balance, motor vibration and other parameters will give certain feedback.

Regular inspection and regular maintenance of the motor are essential. If the operating parameters of the motor are checked every day and recorded, and if a certain parameter is found to be abnormal during the inspection, it will be better to deal with it in time. Protect the motor.

Regular maintenance work is roughly as follows: the front and rear bearings of the motor need to be greased regularly, the vents of the motor need to be cleaned regularly, the wiring terminals of the motor need to be tightened regularly, and the motor coil insulation, operating current and load need to be checked regularly.

The motor includes the enameled wire of the fan and the transformer. If the aging can be seen from the outside, the enameled becomes dark brown. From the disassembled and burnt black carbon-like coils, the aging degree of the motor can be judged. It is a sign that the motor is different from the old to the new. Usually the motor is loaded and hot, which easily causes the insulation paper to age. The enameled film is affected by humid air and leaks. The magnetic flux rate of the aging silicon steel sheet also decreases, which affects the speed.

To talk about the aging of the motor, it is basically the insulation, the bearing is worn, and the outer shell is rusted. After the insulation is aging, the insulation will be reduced and it is easy to be damp. Usually, it needs to be dried, or the winding has to be rewinded, varnished, and dried to resume use.The final result of insulation aging* is a short circuit to ground or a short circuit between phases. We hereby stipulate that the motor should be out of service for more than 72 hours, or after maintenance (changing the bearing or removing the rotor, opening the cover, etc.). Insulation testing must be carried out. It can be used only after the insulation is restored after drying, otherwise it will have to be repaired.

After many years of use, the insulation of the motor will age, the insulation resistance will decrease, the probability of leakage will increase, and the safety will be reduced. The aging of the insulation between the stator and rotor silicon steel sheets will increase the eddy current of the iron core and cause the temperature of the motor. Increase the power consumption, increase the load capacity, decrease the noise, and so on.

Depending on the aging part, the possible failures will be different. If the insulation is aging, faults such as ground breakdown and interphase short circuit may occur. If the casing is aging, it may cause the motor's sealing performance to deteriorate and it is easy to be damp.If the fixed part is damaged, it may cause the motor to vibrate and accelerate the aging.
