Analysis of the reasons for the increase in motor temperature

author:xiaoE date:2021-06-26 10: 51

The temperature rise of the motor refers to the difference between the temperature of the windings and the temperature in the cold state when the motor is running at the rated load to a stable state. The higher the temperature rise, the worse the performance of the motor. Below I will give a few factors that lead to the increase in the temperature of the motor. The factors are as follows:

  1. The copper loss is large, the main reason is the stator winding, the resistance is large or the stator current is large.

  2. The rotor aluminum consumption is large, mainly because the rotor resistivity is large or there are pores or thin rotor bars in the rotor end ring.

  3. The air inlet or outlet is blocked or the design size is small.

  4. Poor heat conduction. At this time, the difference between the outlet air temperature and the inlet air temperature is large. The main reasons are:

  A. The winding varnish quality is not up to standard, and there are many pores inside the winding.

  B. The contact area between the base and the iron core is small, which reduces the heat conduction area.

  5. Poor heat dissipation, such as narrow ribs or narrow heat sinks will affect the heat dissipation of the motor. In addition, poor ventilation in the use environment will also affect the heat dissipation of the motor.

  6. The air gap of the stator and rotor is small and even partly there is a phenomenon of sweeping the bore.

The higher the temperature rise of the motor, not only reduces the efficiency of the motor, but also burns the windings seriously. When the temperature rise of the motor is high, please carefully investigate the reasons from the above aspects and eliminate the fault in time to confirm the normal use of the motor. .
